Dr. Mark Thompson is a board-certified radiation oncologist and has been a partner of Cancer Care of North Florida since 2015. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania and earned a medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed radiation oncology residency at SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York and University Hospitals of Cleveland in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Thompson is also board-certified in family medicine and hospice and palliative care.
He is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic College of Radiology and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Thompson was the first physician to receive the Frist Humanitarian Award from Healthcare Corporation of America in 2012. This award recognizes outstanding physicians who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty in serving patients and their local communities.
In his spare time, Dr. Thompson enjoys sailing with his wife, Olivia, golfing, pickleball, cycling and Bible study. He has 2 children and a grandson.
