Dr. John Bergin is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist with a unique and diverse background spanning medicine, engineering, and research. He is thrilled to join Cancer Care of North Florida in Lake City, where he looks forward to providing advanced, patient-centered cancer treatment to the community. 

Dr. Bergin brings valuable experience from his current role at Campbell County Health in Gillette, WY, where he has been treating patients as a Radiation Oncologist. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA, following an internal medicine internship at Northside Medical Center in Youngstown, OH. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and a Master of Arts in Medical Science from Loyola University in Chicago. 

Before pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Bergin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He then worked as a Heat Transfer Engineer/Technologist at General Electric Aircraft Engines, where he refined his expertise in precision and problem-solving—skills that now enhance his approach to oncology. 

A published researcher, Dr. Bergin is committed to advancing the field of radiation oncology by incorporating the latest evidence-based practices into patient care. He is excited to collaborate with patients and the healthcare team at Cancer Care of North Florida, ensuring compassionate and effective treatment for the Lake City community.
