In 2002, Dr. Waseem Khan founded Cancer Care of North Florida with the primary goal of offering advanced treatment in a small community setting saving patients the stress of traveling long distances for cancer care. He earned a medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Roseau, Dominica. He completed internal medicine residency and medical oncology fellowship at the University of Florida Shands in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Khan is an active member of the Florida Medical Association. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Clinical Practice Committee for the Florida Association of Clinical Oncology and will serve as Chief of Medicine from 2021-2023 at Lake City Hospital. Dr. Khan is published in published in over 50 peer, peer reviewed research studies and is currently primary investigator for several open clinical trials.
In his spare time, Dr. Khan enjoys spending time with his wife, Najeeba, sons Saif and Ayaan and daughters Jumanah, Noorani and Amani. He also enjoys fishing and playing tennis
